The Fantastic BEATLES Phenomenon!
This page is dedicated to the famous Fab Four, THE BEATLES
(This site is always under development so stay tuned!)

"Even though I wasn´t born when they were together, when they broke up or even when John was killed, I feel a great interest in what being a Beatle really meant. It must have been such a great honour and achievement, not just anyone was.
The task of being a Beatle, belongs only to John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, with the exception of Pete Best, a few session drummers and the musicians of John´s "Quarry Men" group. And to be honest no one will ever come near what these four men from Liverpool once did.
They sent Rock ´n´ Roll in all new directions, and then, at the height of their creativity, they broke up, leaving everyone hoping for a reunion that would never come. But their music will live forever. Just listen all around you and you´ll hear their songs everywhere. You just won´t know that they wrote them.
And all of this was done in the eight short years they were together. And you tell me who could overcelebrate them, the ´60s pop phenomena? The Beatles were then and still remain the worlds most astonishing Rock ´n´ Roll band ever."

"The Beatles are the most popular and accomplished musicians of this century. These self taught musicians from Liverpool, England created music that continues to evolve in its form and depth - and at the same time to reflect the changing and dynamic world in which they  lived. From their beginnings as a "skiffle" and dance band to the milestones of music they created together in Abbey Road Studios, the Fab Four are part of the musical history of the world.
The Beatles had exquisite three-part harmony, inventive lyrics, and incredible energy to make powerful original music.
The bands first single was "Love Me Do" released in October 1962. Their first appearance in the U.S. was in February 1964 at the Coliseum in Washington. D.C.
In 1963, the Beatles released two albums, four Eps and several singles. They performed on a variety of radio show tapings and participated in seven tours and a total of more than 200 live performances carving a permanent place for themselves on the British music scene . . . By 1963, the group was a sensation and "Beatlemania" was born!"

NEWS - PAUL MCCARTNEY GETS RE-WED
The British press have called it "Wedding of the Year". Former Beatle Paul McCartney and his fiancée Heather Mills have tied the knot on 11, June in a haunted Irish castle. Among the 300 guests were Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, and former fashion model Twiggy. For both honeymooners it is the second marriage. While Paul's wife Linda had died in 1998 from cancer, Heather Mills' first marriage had ended in divorce. Exactly one week later, McCartney had another reason to celebrate: On 18, June it was his 60th birthday. Many Happy Returns, Paul!
His home town of Liverpool is currently the place where 70 paintings by Paul McCartney are on display, many of them showing his late wife Linda, who died of cancer in 1998. According to the artist himself, McCartney, who had taken up painting some 20 years ago, feels inspired by famous U.S. expressionist painter Willem de Kooning. "I hope, people will like my paintings", Paul told the "Daily Mail". "Love and passion are the dominating themes in painting as in his music", said exhibition director Michael Simpson during the opening at the Walker Art Gallery. The paintings will be on display there until August.
